About us

In 2015, we created the first Grandparents Family Day Picnic, to celebrate, recognize and emphasize the importance of grandfathers, grandmothers, and grandparents with a day of bonding, community resources, education and fun.

The Grandparents Family Day Picnic & Resource Fair is designed to be a day of strengthening families. It is our goal to facilitate a day of information sharing, agency networking, mentoring with community professionals that many families have no access to assist with managing family pressures, social obstacles and help with life's stress. We will do this by hosting an inter-generational family-friendly gathering with a variety of activities offered throughout the day.

The mission of the Grandparents Family Day Picnic is to reinforce family ties. We believe that to strengthen and improve communities; we must start with the family first. We believe that providing a family friendly event with additional resources and information to the families is a more engaging way to strategically get families to access information and resources in a non-threatening manner.

Our vision is to ensure all children have at least one caregiver in their life that has access to information and resources to help them make a better quality of life choices. The goal of The GRANDPARENTS Family Day & Resource Fair is a first step in educating, informing and empowering grandparents who are raising children in unprecedented numbers and assisting grandparents who are boldly raising or significantly influencing their grandchildren’s direction and the future of the family in positive directions.

The day is envisioned as a fun, relaxing environment within which grandfathers, grandmothers and grandchildren can experience free activities, raise awareness of City, County and Community resources that are available, engage in educational creative games that “Papa’s and Nana’s” would have played back in the day, engage in grandfather, grandmother, grandchild, entrepreneurship, and facilitate grandparents providing feedback on their success and their needs.    We hope you will come, participate for a day of family bonding enjoyment on Saturday, September 17th, 2022.
